Prevention/Early Intervention Services

Urban Youth Bolt (Building Our Leaders Today) is a culturally-based intervention, leadership program for at-risk African-American males and females ages 10-17 years-old. The program uses gender specific, developmentally appropriate activities and discussions applying the 7 Principles of Kwanzaa and an 8th principle, Respect. The program’s goal is to increase cultural awareness, critical thinking, and decision making skills.

Weekly sessions are held over various weekly time frames. Program options include:

Program 1

Intervention group focused on the diversion program. Gender specific and  developmentally appropriate. Held at The Center for Holistic Development weekly. This programs participants are referred by our community partners, parents and the Juvenile Assessment Center.

Program 2

Community-based, gender specific violence prevention groups. Held at partner organization locations. Weekly one hour sessions for an eight week time period.
