Outpatient Therapist (Full-time/Part-time/Independent Contractor)

Compensation: Employee salary based on experience. Revenue sharing arrangement for independent contractors. Full time (40 hours) or part-time (20 hours). Evenings or weekends
Hours: Independent contractor schedule is flexible as determined by therapist


The Outpatient Therapist provides clinical assessment and treatment to individuals and groups with identified behavioral health or substance abuse challenges. Services may be provided in-person and/or through telehealth. Developmentally appropriate and culturally competent services are provided with a holistic (mind and body) approach. The Outpatient Therapist is expected to complete documentation and billing within required timeframes, utilizing an electronic health records system. Group professional liability insurance is provided.


  • Contact all parties within twenty-four (24) hours after receiving a new referral.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans within four weeks after the completion of the initial assessment.
  • Continually assess client needs and obtain reauthorizations as necessary to eliminate the possibility of a lapse in services for the client(s).
  • Completes necessary documentation to include assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries. May also include other documentation that is required by a funding source.
  • Maintain appropriate size caseload in meeting productivity expectations.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries and confidentiality with client(s) and families, as well as with other team members involved in a particular case.
  • Conduct/fiacilitate group workshops or classes and participate in specialized projects, as assigned.
  • Display professionalism as demonstrated by effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, clients and other interested parties.

  • Masters Degree in a behavioral health field, such as psychology, social work or related field required
  • At least one year of clinical experience preferred.


  • Nebraska fully licensed (LCSW, LMHP, or LIMHP) individuals are preferred for this position.
  • Provisional licensure (PLMHP) may be considered
  • ¬†Nebraska Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC or PLADC), a plus.
  • Specialized framing, a plus.
  • Eligible to be an authorized Medicaid provider, as well as being eligible for other private insurance providers.
  • A valid Nebraska driver’s license and satisfactory driving record, and proof of liability insurance.
  • Drug testing, criminal background and child/adult abuse clearances are required
