CHD is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization that provides education, prevention, and counseling services to
individuals, families, and community-based groups. Our team of compassionate, skilled, and talented professionals assists clients from diverse backgrounds and cultures in gaining knowledge and insight into how thoughts impact feelings, behaviors, life situations, and social interactions.
GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The part-time accounting clerk is responsible for keeping financial records updated, reconciling bank
statements, and processing transactions through the QuickBooks accounting system. The accounting clerk will also prepare financial reports related to CHD programs and operations. Duties will include some general administrative and payroll support functions.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality in all work-related matters.
Enter data to process receivables and payables in QuickBooks accounting system.
Enter journal entries and update the general ledger and payroll systems.
Assist with the onboarding of new employees and the timely processing of payroll.
Perform other accounting or finance functions as needed to assure smooth operations of CHD.
Prepare internal and external financial reports related to various CHD programs.
Maintain spreadsheets and databases related to CHD operations.
Ensure timely processing of payroll.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
Associate degree or higher required, with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or business administration.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
At least two years of experience in providing accounting/bookkeeping services are required.
At least one year of experience in not-for-profit accounting is preferred, but not required.
High School Diploma or GED may be considered with five or more years of related experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to remain flexible and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel, as well as familiarity with other Microsoft Office products.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member.
A high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information.
Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication.
Good “people skills”, including the ability to engage with diverse populations.
Criminal background and child/adult abuse clearances are required.
Drug testing is required.
A satisfactory driving record is required.
